A proficient and experienced local harpist,
Emma grew up in Harrogate taking up the harp at age 8. She was taught by her Great Aunt Dorothy Gilbertson for many years, and in 1995 Emma started playing professionally for Weddings and other engagements.
Developing an interest in the therapeutic applications of the harp, Emma studied part-time with World Class harpist Christina Tourin from 2001-2006 on the International Harp Therapy Program. Now a Certified Therapeutic Harp Practitioner Emma has taken the harp into many different contexts including nursing homes, hospitals and yoga classes.
Emma’s expressive playing shows a genuine affinity for the harp, which she also hopes to pass on to her growing number of pupils.
